FAQ

Import Customs Clearance Checklist FAQ

Clear answers for importers evaluating customs brokerage, CARM compliance, and duty management options in Canada.

What documents should I prepare before my shipment reaches Canada?

At minimum, most shipments need a commercial invoice, packing list, transport document, importer number, and any commodity-specific permits or certificates. Ezcustoms confirms the exact requirements before filing the customs entry.

Can Ezcustoms use this checklist for shipments entering any Canadian port?

Yes. The checklist is designed for Canada-wide customs brokerage support. Ezcustoms files entries electronically for importers using Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, and other CBSA-designated entry points.

Do I still need CARM set up before customs clearance?

Commercial importers generally need an active CARM account and, for Release Prior to Payment privileges, a valid security bond. Ezcustoms can guide importers through the setup before the first shipment arrives.

Want Ezcustoms to review your import file before arrival?
